I thought I might try something fun… ask me a question in the comments, and I’ll answer it. Anything you’ve wondered about me from reading my blog, or anything you’re curious about? Want my opinion on something? Ask away! I’m curious to see what you all come up with

Ok – I’ll be brave and ask something… What is the number one thing you plan to do with your free time once you cut back on your hours?
Yay! Thanks for breaking the silence LOL
The #1 priority is finding more time for me– time to get more rest, get more exercise, cook and plan more healthy meals. Help improve myself physically and mentally, while also finding time to reach out and socialize with people more, and with some luck find a good woman to spend time with
Hi Ben,
Have you had a chance to look at the new Planechase 2012 WotC is releasing next week? At the very least, some new Commanders to build around
As a matter of fact, I’ll be talking about some Planechase cards for Commander in my column this week, and probably go more into depth in two weeks after the release.
Very cool. what did you want to be when you grew up?
A family friend vows that as a small child I wanted to be a frog when I grew up but I can’t confirm or deny that. My earliest memory of such a thing was that I wanted to be an archaeologist– I even learned how to spell it at a very early age. I was nuts about dinosaurs and could think of no better job than to dig for dino bones.
Later on I thought I wanted to be a comic book artist… then briefly thought about being an architect. I went to college thinking I’d be a “writer,” then briefly went into education before finally getting my degree in Advertising, but never went into that field. Currently I’m a Quality Analyst which is certainly nothing that I thought about as a child… but I still hold out hope to make a living out of writing someday
Yea for dino’s. One of the first books I remember reading was about dinosaurs. I think it actually was called “All about Dinosaurs” All the other 2nd graders picked T-rex or brontosaurus (a “species” that no longer exists) and I held firm that Triceratops would beat them all
I also was very fond of Triceratops
You mention wanting to make a living at writing at some point, what would you ideally like to write? Novels? screenplays? plays? short stories? Columnist? And what sort of things do you want to write about? Mainstream or some genre?
Yes to all that? LOL! I’d love to either be a successful novelist, spending my days researching, plotting and rewriting my next novel, or a screenwriter for movies or TV. Honestly though, if I could make a living exclusively off any sort of writing I’d be a happy man.
Genres I’d like to write in would include horror, fantasy, sci-fi, rom-com, historical drama.
I have another question. It might be some sort of blogger taboo to ask, so if it is I apologize in advance. I am wondering what a “good day” for views looks like for you. As someone who is just starting a blog I would like some sort of realistic idea of what a year out looks like. I don’t really have a concept of what average viewership can/should be.
I was curious starting out too, but then I realized that every blog is different, and I decided I didn’t want to hold up a measuring stick to my blog based on what other people were doing. As someone who wants to grow an audience of readers, I view success as a steadily increasing number of page hits as well as increasing subscribers. This month looks to be closing out five times the number of page hits than my very first full month a year ago, and when looking at the month-by-month view the trendline is steadily increasing.
In my experience, the first few months are frustrating because it feels like you’re spending all this effort and no one hears. But people do, and eventually readership picks up and gains momentum if you keep at it.
If you still want actual numbers, let me know and I’ll post them for you
